1. Are these products tin-coated?
Usually, brass is coated with tin to prevent any toxic reactions. However, if we keep ghee in a tin-coated product, it shall turn unusable within a week. It is important to remember that brass only reacts with sour stuff.
Masala Box doesn't require any tin coating and all masalas (avoiding salt is recommended) can be safely kept in this.
It is completely safe to use paraat to roll your dough without any tin coating! Still in doubt? Ask your grandparents!
2. What is the best way to clean Brass utensils?
You can use a normal dishwashing soap to clean the utensils from the inside and Pitambari or a paste made from Flour (Atta), Vinegar/lemon Juice, and salt can be applied on the outside to retain the shine of the utensils.
3. Why can't I keep salt in Brass Masala Box?
If you store salt, tamarind or anything sour in the masala box, it might turn the condiments green since the masala box doesn't have a tin-coating inside it.
4. What if the Ghee turns Green?
If the ghee comes in contact with salt, the ghee might turn green. Even if a salty spoon comes in contact with ghee, the ghee will slowly turn green. It is best to get rid of that ghee, clean the pot with clean water and pour in a fresh batch of ghee.

- You should use a wooden spatula to avoid scratching the kalai from the tawa.
